Why Join the IGA?

The Independent Glass Association (IGA) is the only association for independent Auto Glass Repair and Replacement (AGRR) professionals that actively seeks  solutions for the issues that affect Independent auto glass shops. These issues tend to center around:

· the pursuit of a free and open marketplace,
·
 State and Federal Legislation,
·
 past and current legal cases,
·
and decisions by third-party administrators that affect AGRR professionals.

The IGA aggressively assists members and develops strategies needed to effectively combat what are often unethical and deceptive trading practices imposed by confusing and inconveniencing our customers.

We believe that for the independents to continue to grow and thrive they need  to have technology on their side. Much of the technology used in the industry today has been available to only the largest companies and has been highly coveted by them.

The IGA has made two significant investments in technology.

· By supporting the “Electronic Standards” initiative (www.agrrstech.org), that began in early in 2011, we can significantly reduce cost and friction for AGRR Independents, regardless of which point-of-sale (POS) system they employ.

· For IGA members who do not wish to wait for these standards to be adopted, we have made yet another investment in technology. By licensing state-of-the-art POS, shop management  and claims technology from eDirectGlass, we can provide  the very best solutions to our members allowing them to directly communicate with their customers and vendors.

A free and open marketplace is our goal.  No “interference” and no “deception” will allow the best businesses to compete and flourish, just as it did in the early days of the AGRR industry.

This is what is at stake in the worldwide auto glass marketplace, and a unified platform for all AGRR Independents is the only logical solution.

We implore all AGRR Independents to participate in the emancipation of our industry by becoming a member and providing their voice to be heard at the highest pitch.
